The 2023 WWE Draft kicked off on Friday Night SmackDown this week and Triple H made his way out to the podium at the beginning of the show. The Game welcomed fans to Friday Night SmackDown and to the WWE Draft.

He explained that 50% of the roster will be drafted on SmackDown, and the other 50% would be drafted on Raw next week. Triple H also explained that select wrestlers from NXT are eligible to be drafted and the new rosters will go into effect on Raw after Backlash on May 8th.

Triple H revealed the first pick for SmackDown and it was Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns drafted as one. He then explained that the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be exclusive to Monday Night Raw.

Cody Rhodes was then selected as the first pick for Monday Night Raw. The third pick was Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair who was drafted to SmackDown. Triple H announced the next pick for Raw which happened to be Becky Lynch.

After the first round he introduced The Usos who came out followed by Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens. Both teams cut a promo hyping up their Undisputed Tag Team Title match later in the night. Stay tuned for more updates on the WWE Draft as they become available.
