On the road to WrestleMania 30 fans made it very clear that Daniel Bryan was the man they wanted to see in the main event, but getting to the main event wasn’t an easy path for Bryan. At WrestleMania 30, Daniel Bryan had to defeat Triple H to earn a spot in the main event and then he had to overcome both Randy Orton and Batista to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Road Dogg recently discussed the WrestleMania 30 main event on his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast and he noted that Daniel Bryan’s merchandise sales dropped after he won the title.

“They made [Bryan] that night, but look, the next day was a different story. My little engine that could did, so now what? You know what I mean? Okay, now, his t-shirt sales legitimately dropped after he won the title and that’s not… you can’t make that up. That’s nothing having to do with him, that’s me being more invested in the climb than the perch at [the] top.”

Bryan’s reign following WrestleMania lasted for 64 days before he relinquished the title due to injury. Throughout the course of his run with WWE he had five different world championship reigns before he parted ways with the company last year. He currently wrestles in AEW under his real name Bryan Danielson.
