Penta made his big debut with WWE last month and he’s quickly become one of the most talked about stars on the roster. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has clearly made an impression on the WWE fans and it seems that the sky is the limit when it comes to his future with the company.
Recently Rey Mysterio spoke to Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely, and he was asked not only if he wants to face Penta in a singles match in WWE, but also if he believes that Penta is a world championship caliber wrestler.
“Most definitely. Yes to both questions. That is a match that I definitely would love to have. I had it in AAA, I had it in Lucha Underground. I would love to have it once again here in WWE. Is he world champion caliber? Of course he is. I think he proved it from the moment he stepped in here.”
“He already has his fanbase, not to mention what he’s going to accumulate in the next plus years, whenever he decides to end his career. It’s going to end here. Once you’re here, you can’t go anywhere else. This is it. This is home. I look forward to seeing his destiny. I’m excited for him. I can’t wait to step in the ring and have a singles match with him, or if we team up.”
So far Penta has only competed in five matches since joining WWE, but he is undefeated in singles competition as of this writing. During his run with AEW the former champion mostly focused on the tag team division alongside Rey Fenix. Currently Rey Fenix is still signed to All Elite Wrestling, but it was recently reported that he could be parting ways with the company soon, and you can get more details on that here.
