the revival

When The Revival made their main roster debut answering The New Day’s open challenge it was a big night for a lot of people. Unfortunately, it was also a big night for Kofi Kingston because The Revival apparently snapped his ankle with their signature figure-4/top rope stomp combo move. We had an idea something was wrong with Kofi beforehand. But, when official news broke today that Kofi was out of action due to an ankle injury there were many people distraught. Two of the most inconvenienced superstars were Big E and Xavier Woods. But for The Revival, they saw it as a sense of validation. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder both took to Twitter following the news to further agitate the situation.

The Revival are a superb tag team to say the least, and it might be true that The New Day broke a record The Top Guys could very well have broken themselves. But if history is any indication this will not only bring The Revival an intense amount of heat, but also The New Day will be fine.

After all, remember when The Club broke Big E’s “eggs” and he was sidelined until Summerslam last year? That was a good bit of business. If anything, we got to see Anderson and Gallows in lab coats and call each other “doctor.” But The New Day overcame that obstacle and carried on to become the longest running WWE Tag Team Champions in history.

Only time will tell if this injury will spell the end of The New Day. But if WWE decides to keep them together, the “Free Bird rule” will certainly be an advantage for them. Xavier Woods will just have to step up to the plate as The New Day turns a new page.

But in the meantime, The Revival are enjoying this amount of heat they’ve recently acquired and they’re going to milk it for all it’s worth. We can’t wait to see how far they take this one.
