It’s become quite common over the last few years for WWE to release Superstars and Eric Young recently parted ways with the company. It was reported that Young requested his release back in April because he didn’t want to work with Vince McMahon, and the release request was granted.
Eric Young’s 90 day no-compete clause recently expired and it was reported ahead of the Impact Wrestling Slammiversary pay-per-view on Saturday night that Young had been spotted in Detroit. Ultimately Eric Young returned to Impact Wrestling during the event and he teamed with Scott D’Amore to defeat the team of Bully Ray & Deaner. Following his return Young posted the following on Twitter:

Eric Young was previously released from WWE back in April of 2020, but he signed a new deal with the company late last year. Despite the fact that he signed a new contract with WWE he never actually returned to TV, and now it seems that he’ll be working with Impact Wrestling moving forward.
