Netflix officially set a release date for the first season of their highly anticipated “G.L.O.W.” series which tells the story about the 1980’s David McLane concept for a women’s professional wrestling promotion. All 10 episodes are set to be available on the same day, which is a standard Netflix practice at this point. The release date is slated for June 23rd.

The series is set to star Allison Brie (Community), Betty Gilpen (Nurse Jackie), as well as comedian Marc Maron. It’s unknown exactly what the plot will be at this point but where Netflix is concerned when it comes to drama-comedies like “Orange Is The New Black”, nothing is off the table in regards to content.

“G.L.O.W.” which stands for “Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling” will be a dramedy series from creator Jenji Kohan, the mastermind behind such hit shows like “Weeds” and “Orange Is The New Black.” Everything she touches has a quality of pithiness and appeal, therefore we’re expecting great things from this upcoming series.

Netflix plans on releasing a documentary about “G.L.O.W.” on the 31st of this month to build interest for the new show. You can check out the announcement trailer below.
