AEW changed the landscape in a big way in 2019, and both WWE and AEW have been working hard to recruit talents that they want on their rosters.
Kris Statlander has been making a name for herself in AEW, and recently it was confirmed that she has officially signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Kris Statlander was very close to signing a contract with WWE.
It was noted that the figures were there for Statlander to sign with WWE, but AEW ended up offering her a better deal and immediate TV time.
Statlander is currently set to challenge Riho for the AEW Women’s Championship during the January 1st episode of AEW Dynamite.
