broken matt hardy

The news is true folks, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Reby Hardy, King Maxel, Senor Benjamin and Vanguard-1 are parting ways with Impact Wrestling. Reby Hardy recently spoke to Dave LaGreca of Busted Open and she confirmed most of the rumors that have been going around regarding the departure of House Hardy.

Reby noted that they didn’t get their new contracts until 5 days before their current deals were set to expire and that was a “real point of contention” with Matt and Jeff. She said that the situation with TNA was perfect for their family, but the company is changing and she doesn’t think they would have been in the same situation if they had re-signed.

She added that she doesn’t feel like anyone in Matt or Jeff’s situation should be chasing their employer to try and get their new contracts for six or seven weeks. After they didn’t receive the deals they started to feel like they weren’t important and she noted that something didn’t feel right because they kept contacting the company and they weren’t hearing anything back.

When they finally got the contracts she says they felt like they were being bullied into signing them. She confirmed that several things were slipped into the contract that weren’t supposed to be there, and they needed more time to make changes.

She was asked if she thinks this might be the end for Impact Wrestling and she said that she doesn’t think so. Reby acknowledged that TNA still has a hardcore following and she put over the talent saying that the locker room is amazing. She added that most people didn’t care about the rumors that were floating around in 2016 and they only made the talent work harder.

It was recently reported that Impact Wrestling officials believe they are the rightful owners of the Broken Matt Hardy character. When asked about what’s next, Reby said that Matt will not be giving up his Broken Universe anytime soon.

“Matt is in love with his Broken Universe, he’s not about to let that go anytime soon. I can confirm that for sure. It’s kind of his baby, his brainchild, he took such a risk with it. Even I was telling him, ‘Dude, this accent, it’s gotta go.’ Everyone was like, ‘You’re crazy, this is dumb!’ He kept on with it and it kept evolving. It’s his baby, so there will be broken wherever there is Matt Hardy.”
