WWE Crown Jewel is quickly approaching and it was announced earlier this week that the show will be moving from the originally planned temporary outdoor stadium to the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Saudi Arabia made the decision to move Crown Jewel to a different venue with the idea being that it will be safer to run an indoor show as opposed to an outdoor show.
“The claim is that it’s safer to run the show indoors than outdoors, which makes all the sense in the world. So they’re going to move the show indoors. You can bomb any building, yeah. But they think it’s safer because it’s easier to keep people out if it’s indoors.”
It was recently reported that TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro said that the safety of everyone was “paramount” during a town hall meeting on Wednesday. Ahead of the show the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh has issued multiple security alerts due to the recent attacks in the area.
Crown Jewel will air live from Saudi Arabia on November 7th and the current card can be seen below.
