This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw emanated from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California and it was the go-home show for the upcoming SummerSlam premium live event this weekend.
Raw featured a big title match as Sol Ruca put the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line when she defended the belt against Raquel Rodriguez. As Ruca and Rodriguez battled in the ring Lyra Valkyria watched the match from the backstage area.
After a few minutes Raquel’s nose got busted open. She put Sol Ruca in a headlock as the referee cleaned up Raquel’s face. Shortly after Sol ran at Raquel and connected with a knee to the face for a two count. Ruca went for a crossbody off the second rope, but Raquel caught her. Sol made it to the top rope for a DDT on Raquel as Raquel kicked out.
Roxanne Perez ran down and tried to interfere, but Ruca blocked her. As the referee was distracted Liv Morgan grabbed Sol’s leg and Raquel hit her with a big boot. Sol Ruca kicked out a two. Iyo Sky ran down and Liv Morgan brawled with Iyo at ringside.
Iyo got the upper hand and Raquel grabbed her. Sol Ruca hit Raquel with a Codebreaker. Liv and Iyo battled on the apron and Sol went for the Sol Snatcher, but Roxanne Perez slammed her head into the top of the ring post while the referee was distracted by Liv and Iyo. Raquel then hit Sol with the Tejana Bomb and pinned her to win the match.
After the match Raquel celebrated with Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez as pyro went off.
