Sunday night Randy Orton challenged Bobby Roode for the United States Title at WWE Fastlane, and leading up to the pay-per-view WWE consistently hyped up the fact that he had never won the title despite the fact that he’s had a very long career with the company.
Well, that all changed on Sunday night, because Orton managed to defeat Bobby Roode, and he’s now officially a Grand Slam Champion.
The end of the match came when Bobby Roode went for a blockbuster, but Orton caught him in midair and managed to hit him with the RKO to pick up the win.
Prior to the match WWE also hyped up the fact that Orton would become a Grand Slam Champion if he won the title, and The Viper has now joined an elite class.

The officials WWE Stats & Info Twitter account also noted that Orton and Jericho are the only two Superstars who have achieved Grand Slam Champion status by winning the US Title last.

After the match Jinder Mahal made his way down to the ring and attacked Randy Orton, but Bobby Roode hit him with the Glorious DDT for his troubles. Roode then followed up by hitting Orton with a Glorious DDT to end the segment.
