Anything can happen in the WWE and earlier this year Trish Stratus returned. Stratus kicked off a feud with Becky Lynch shortly after WrestleMania, and the two stars were engaged in a heated rivalry that lasted for months. Lynch seemingly wrapped up her rivalry with Trish Stratus recently, and now she’s setting her sights on Tiffany Stratton as Becky Lynch is set to challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship this week.
Dave Meltzer speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio that the NXT Women’s Championship could change hands, and he wouldn’t be surprised to see Becky Lynch win the belt. It was noted that WWE has been really pushing the fact that Becky has never won the NXT Women’s Championship with the two most likely outcomes being Becky wins the title, or the match ends in a DQ finish.
If Becky Lynch does indeed win the championship then it wouldn’t be the first time a main roster star has won a title belt that belongs to the NXT brand. Charlotte Flair defeated Rhea Ripley to win the NXT Women’s Championship a few years ago at WrestleMania 36, Dolph Ziggler defeated Bron Breakker to win the NXT Championship in 2022, and Dominik Mysterio is the current NXT North American Champion.
