Intergender wrestling is something that WWE has mostly stayed away from over the years, but recently we’ve been seeing more of it on TV.

Nia Jax entered the men’s Royal Rumble on Sunday night, and she took a superkick from Dolph Ziggler, a 619 from Rey Mysterio, then a RKO from Randy Orton.

The Nia Jax segment was without a doubt one of the most talked about segments of the pay-per-view, and on Monday night Nia Jax got physical with Dean Ambrose on Raw.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is testing out more risqué content because they’re trying to get people interested in the product.

The idea is to get viewership up before SmackDown moves to FOX, because if they can’t they run the risk of their stock price dropping, which could make it seem like the company can’t hang in prime time on a big network.

At this point WWE is throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what works, which is why we’ve been seeing more risqué content on WWE programming.
