WWE Monday Night Raw is set to take place from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL tonight, and PWInsider broke the news earlier today that CM Punk was backstage ahead of the show.
Fightful Select is reporting those they spoke to got eyes on CM Punk speaking to talent. Punk reportedly spoke to The Miz and the word is that he also briefly spoke with Chief Content Officer Triple H.
Several talent were told that CM Punk was asked to leave the venue by WWE’s head of security Jim Kelly and Keith Burgdoff, but that wasn’t confirmed. It’s rumored that Vince McMahon sent the request for CM Punk to leave remotely. People who spoke on the subject noted that Punk left without incident.
Numerous WWE wrestlers noted that they believed CM Punk appearing backstage at Raw was a publicity stunt for his AEW return which is expected to happen soon. It’s being said that several AEW talent were in disbelief when they heard he was backstage at Raw. WWE talent were also said to be shocked that he got backstage.
