A few weeks ago Liv Morgan suffered an unfortunate injury when she dislocated her shoulder during a match with Kairi Sane on Raw. Morgan is expected to be out of action for months following her successful shoulder surgery which left many to wonder what WWE would do with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
During this week’s episode of Raw, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh defeated The New Day to win the WWE World Tag Team Championship and later on during the show they confronted Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis backstage.
Finn Balor told Pearce and Aldis that he has an idea for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. He said that Raquel has worked hard to defend the belts, so it would be wrong for her to be stripped of the titles. Balor suggested that Raquel keep the titles with Roxanne Perez stepping in as her new partner.
Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis discussed the idea with each other for a moment then told Finn that they’ll allow it, on one condition. Pearce and Aldis then announced that Raquel Rodriguez will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against a team from SmackDown, and a team from NXT at the upcoming Evolution premium live event.
