Roman Reigns won the Universal Championship at Payback in 2020, and he defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38. Since then The Tribal Chief has been billed as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, and Triple H presented him with a new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship belt on SmackDown a few weeks ago.

Even though Roman Reigns has a new belt it looks like we may not have seen the last of the Universal Championship and the WWE Championship. Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated is reporting that Paul Heyman could continue to carry the two belts in addition to Roman Reigns wearing the new Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Those plans have not been confirmed, but they are reportedly under consideration. WWE could potentially use the three belts to give Roman Reigns his own unique presentation and differentiate him from other champions. It was also noted that The Bloodline storyline is expected to continue through the summer with a potential Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso match taking place at some point.

One way or another it will be interesting to see how many belts Roman Reigns has on Friday as he’s expected to make his return to the SmackDown brand. Stay tuned for updates.
