The wrestling world has been talking a lot about Paul Wight as of late because the former WWE Champion recently signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling. For many years Wight was known as Big Show to WWE fans, and people were shocked to see him leave the company.
Recently he’s been opening up about his departure, and he noted that he was frustrated creatively because he felt like he still had more to offer the company.
During a recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho Paul Wight revealed that he knew his relationship with Vince McMahon had changed when Vince started calling him Paul instead of Show.
“I knew the writing had changed for me and Vince in our relationship because for years I was always Show. In the last year it’s been Paul, so that’s a subtle thing in his mind where he’s already shipping me off to Shady Pines [retirement home], you know what I mean? Paul’s just a guy, Paul’s his friend.”
Even though Paul Wight is now working for All Elite Wrestling he confirmed that there’s no heat at all between him and Vince McMahon.
“There’s no animosity, there’s no heat there at all. He called me, he said, ‘Congratulations, you’re gonna do fantastic over there. You’re really gonna help their company. You have a lot to help here.’ It was a very classy, classy move.”
