The WWE Backlash premium live event is almost here and this year the show will take place from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Bad Bunny is set to face off against Damian Priest in a street fight at the show, but it sounds like WWE originally had different plans.
Fightful Select reports that original plans called for Bad Bunny to team up with Rey Mysterio to face the team of Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio. Things were heading in that direction, but in the end the plans were changed.
The idea for the match was to have Bad Bunny pick up the win for his team by pinning Dominik Mysterio to send the fans home happy. However, Rey & Dominik were pulled from the match, and it’s being said that both WWE and Bad Bunny were comfortable with his ability to perform in a singles match instead.
WWE Backlash will air live from San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday, May 6 and the current card for the show can be seen below.
