Cain Velasquez also made his debut wen he challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, but Brock made Cain tap out.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, original plans for Tyson Fury at Crown Jewel called for Tyson Fury to face Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel.
It was noted that Fury vs. Lesnar was discussed internally, but never got past early discussions.
It’s being said that the match likely never got past early discussions because of Cain Velasquez having a history with Brock Lesnar, and Cain is a bigger star in the United States, which is WWE’s primary market.
