Vince McMahon is known to be very hands on when it comes to his work with WWE, but it looks like he loosened up the reins a little bit on Sunday night.
PWInsider is reporting that Vince McMahon was not backstage for Extreme Rules at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA. However, he was in communication with WWE officials who were running the show.
Triple H and Billy Kidman were the ones running the gorilla position for the event.
It’s also being reported that original plans called for the 30 minute Iron Man match to open the show, with AJ Styles vs. Rusev and Nia Jax vs. Alexa Bliss taking place in the last hour.
Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley was originally set to close the show, but the match order was changed late in the day.
WWE brought the entire main roster to Extreme Rules for a meeting with Hulk Hogan, but talents weren’t told anything about the meeting ahead of time. At no point was Hogan scheduled to appear on TV.
Randy Orton hid on a bus until about 30 minutes before he made his return after the US Title match.
