This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was an emotional one for the members of The Shield, as Roman Reigns vacated his title and revealed that he’s battling leukemia, and Dean Ambrose later turned on Seth Rollins after they won the Raw Tag Team Titles in the main event.
For weeks now WWE has been teasing a Dean Ambrose heel turn, and this week they finally decided to pull the trigger.
It was reported on Wrestling Observer Live that Dean Ambrose turning on Seth Rollins has always been the plan, but original plans called for Dean to turn at Survivor Series.
Dean’s heel turn was pushed up due to Roman Reigns’ announcement.
WWE also made some other big changes to the landscape on Monday Night Raw this week, as Braun Strowman is now working as a face, and Elias also turned face when he hit acting General Manager Baron Corbin with a guitar.
