Anticipation for WrestleMania 40 has been at an all time high in recent weeks and WWE’s biggest show of the year is almost here. It looks like WWE will be kicking things off in a big way as PWInsider is reporting that Becky Lynch will challenge Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship in the opening match of night one.

During an interview last month Becky Lynch noted that she would love to open WrestleMania 40 when she said the following:

“Nah, man, I’m not worried about card order. I would love to open the show. I would love that. I’ve never opened WrestleMania before.

“And to open this one, as big as it is in Philadelphia, I’m just putting that out there. It would be pretty cool because if it’s not the main event, I always want to be the opening spot — it’s always a great place on the card because people are so excited.”

Stay tuned for more updates on WrestleMania 40 as they become available.
