Earlier today it was reported that NXT wrestler Chris Atkins had been released from WWE, but he’s not the only name to part ways with the company today.
Uproxx is reporting that former Tough Enough Winner Josh Bredl has also been released from his contract. Bredl won the most recent episode of Tough Enough which aired in 2015, and he’s been working in NXT under the name Bronson Matthews, but he hasn’t done much as of late.
Bredl came under fire back in 2016 when he referred to the Social Outcasts as the “Social Jobbers” on Twitter and he was called out by other wrestlers on the WWE roster. Josh Bredl later took to Twitter to apologize and say that he had learned from his actions.
Andrea Ocampo, who had been using the name Andrea Dimarco during her time in NXT has also reportedly been released from her contract. Andrea is a former Miami Dolphins cheerleader and she made her debut in March of 2016.
Simon Gotch of The Vaudevillains was also recently released from his contract, although he has since said that the release was mutual. It’s certainly not uncommon for WWE to release several wrestlers following WrestleMania season, so one can’t help but wonder if there are more releases on the way.
Appreciate it so much! 😎 https://t.co/UInK1XUYkc
