The NXT brand has gone through some major changes over the last few months, and this week it seemed that both Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly finished up with the company. O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano both have deals that are expiring and Gargano teased his farewell from NXT.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there are those in NXT that are under the impression that Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly will both be back. However, the reality is that both stars have deals on the table and neither of them have signed.

Both men are expecting new children in 2022, and WWE is under the impression that they are taking time off, but it was noted that if they simply wanted to take time away they could have signed new deals and asked for time off.

Gargano will be a free agent on 12/11, and can legally work wherever he wants after that, but the expectation is that he will wait until Candice LeRae gives birth in February before he returns to the ring.

Garganoa reportedly has not made up his mind, and those close to him say it’s a difficult decision. The company made him a strong offer, but the reality is that he would be staying in NXT with a new direction, and wouldn’t be the focus. The idea is that Johnny would be kept strong so he could teach and put over talents WWE wants on the main roster.

It was also noted that Kyle O’Reilly doesn’t have much of a future with WWE or NXT beyond a coaching position, and that the only reason for him to stay would be if AEW has no interest in him. Stay tuned for updates.
