The Bella Twins were top stars in the WWE women’s division for years, and Nikki Bella was lucky enough to have a record breaking title reign. There’s no doubt that the division is constantly evolving, and last year Ronda Rousey became one of the first women in history to main event WrestleMania.

Rousey officially made her debut after the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018, and many people felt that she stole the spotlight from the women’s division during their historic moment.

In The Bella Twins’ new book “Incomparable” Nikki Bella shares her thoughts on Ronda’s debut at the Royal Rumble, and she made it clear that she thought it happened in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

“It was nothing against Ronda—it is thrilling that she is at WWE—but it was a bit of a slap in the face to all the historic women wrestlers who had come out for the match, the main event, only to have the moment upstaged by the Ronda announcement,” Nikki wrote. “It just didn’t need to happen like that.”

The Bellas went on to feud with Ronda Rousey later that year when Nikki Bella challenged Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship during the main event of the first ever Evolution pay-per-view. Nikki also noted in the book that the match with Ronda meant a lot to her.

“That night was career-justifying. That night was worth breaking my neck for.”

Ronda Rousey wrestled her last match at WrestleMania 35 when she faced Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in the main event, but at this point in time it’s not clear if she will ever end up wrestling again. One way or another the wrestling world is still talking about Rousey as she got a lot of negative attention when she recently referred to wrestling matches as “fake fights.”
