Just a few days ago ROH announced that Nigel McGuinness had resigned from his position as matchmaker, and that an executive committee will be formed to take over matchmaking duties in Ring of Honor. Today it was revealed that Nigel McGuinness has already found a new job, as he has joined the WWE family.

WWE announced that they will hold the first ever United Kingdom Championship tournament in January, and Nigel McGuinness is set to call the action along with NXT General Manager William Regal, and former Universal Champion Finn Balor.
After the official announcements were made regarding the tournament, Nigel McGuinness got his chance to comment. Michael Cole introduced him, and he said that he is someone that he’s had his eye on for a couple of years, and then Nigel McGuinness made his way to the podium and said that being part of the WWE is the realization of his childhood dream.
He also hyped up the tournament and the opportunity that the 16 competitors have to make history.
Nigel also talked about the United Kingdom style of wrestling and how it’s a melting pot of all the different styles in the world.
