Bayley and Nia Jax had a pretty rough match on Raw this week. It was especially hard for Bayley because when all was said and done she’s dealing with a shoulder injury that may take her out of SummerSlam.
There have been numerous people speak out about Nia Jax and how stiff she is in the ring. Truth be told she teeters on being flat-out unsafe at times. When Jax tossed Bayley out of the ring and followed it up with that powerful and dangerous-looking double chicken wing slam, it was a cringe-worthy moment for sure.
I personally like Nia as a person because she’s super likable, but her monstrous ring persona might translate into more bad bumps if she’s not more careful. Bryan Alvarez brought up Nia and her unsafe work habits on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live where he had a few things to say about The Girl Who’s Not Like Most Girls.
“Look, I don’t want to be a jerk right here, but I’m gonna tell you straight out: I will never have a match with Nia Jax,” Alvarez said. “Not that it would ever happen, but if the opportunity ever arose I would not have one. Just like I would not have a match with Sheamus. I would not feel safe in the ring with them.”
“Nia Jax has got to take care of her opponents. You can not lift somebody up for a double chicken wing with their arms behind their back and then just throw them forward to the mat where they have nothing to break their fall except for their face or their shoulder. It was mind-boggling when I watched that and then throwing [Bayley] out of the ring as hard as she could and landing on her shoulder and flying outside. I was not a big fan of that as a former wrestler.”
Let’s hope Bayley is able to make it back to the ring without having to take time off. But in the meantime, Nia Jax might do herself some big favors if she could perfect her style of being a brutalizing force in WWE’s Women’s Division.
