john cena

The 2017 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards was a night of fun and slime had by all. John Cena, Nikki Bella, and The Rock were all there to represent the world of professional wrestling, however this star studded affair didn’t spell a ratings boom. The 2017 KCA only drew 3.05 million viewers which is down from last year’s 3.32 million. Of course, Blake Shelton was the host of last year’s ceremony so the show was simulcast on CMT as well as TV Land which did not happen this year.

According the the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, PJ Black (formerly known as Justin Gabriel) is telling people he will not be permitted to travel to the United Kingdom after 2017. This inability to travel is due to a change in visa law in the UK.

The world of professional wrestling isn’t confined to the ring. Often times superstars receive even more notoriety when they step out of the squared circle and in front of a film camera. This has been the case for a few professional wrestling talents and very well might be the springboard for many more to come.

Jeff Hardy is currently working on a film called “The Favorite” in which he will play a retired MMA fighter. Hardy’s character’s MMA days are long behind him but he’s still involved in the world of fighting as he continues as a promoter. Sounds interesting.

There is a new play which recently premiered off-Broadway called “Sam and Dede” which tells the story about Samuel Beckett, the famous playwright responsible for classics such as “Waiting for Godot” and “Endgame” among others. The reason we’re reporting about it here is that the play, “Sam and Dede” will tell the story of how Beckett befriended a teenage Andre The Giant while in France.  The play is being staged at the 59E59 Theater in Manhattan and is being met with decent reviews and buzz.
