The past few weeks have been pretty crazy for Global Force Wrestling. The GFW Champion Alberto El Patron was suspended from the company back in July, and his suspension has yet to be lifted. Alberto’s suspension created a very obvious problem due to the fact that he was the champion, but the company later released a statement announcing that he had been stripped of his title.

Last week on Impact, Bruce Prichard made his way to the ring to reveal the fate of the GFW Championship, but he was interrupted by Jim Cornette who fired Prichard. Cornette then announced a 20 man gauntlet match to decide the new champion, and the gauntlet match aired this week on Impact.
The match saw the debut of former WWE Intercontinental Champion John Morrison, who will be known as Johnny Impact in GFW, and Johnny made it to the final 3 in the gauntlet match.
It came down to Johnny Impact, Eddie Edwards and Eli Drake and Impact was eliminated by Eli Drake. It then came down to Eddie Edwards and Eli Drake, and it was Drake who won the GFW Championship after he pinned Edwards. You can see how the end of the match went down in the video clip below.
