Last year All Elite Wrestling officially announced that a console game was being developed by Yukes, and now some new gameplay footage has surfaced online.
The footage shows a 360 degree view of former TNT Champion Darby Allin, and it also shows Allin hitting some impressive moves in and out of the ring, including the Coffin Drop. The full clip can be seen below.
Tony Khan recently noted that AEW made an eight-figure investment in the development of their video games which has prevented the company from being profitable, but the company is expected to be profitable by the end of the year.
During an interview with talkSPORT back in February AEW World Champion Kenny Omega noted that he expects the game to be released in early 2022.
“I wouldn’t say years [away] plural. I would say in a perfect world, give it about a year’s time. We’re working really hard and we’re lucky to have two teams, one in America and one in Japan, working on this almost around the clock. We do know that time is of the essence, we can’t let this sit around forever and people want a game like yesterday [laughs] so, we do want to release something as soon as we feel it’s ready and representative of what our brand should be and what will make fans happy.”
