WWE decided to let William Regal go earlier this year and it didn’t take long for Regal to make his way to All Elite Wrestling. However, Regal is already done with AEW and he’s expected to return to WWE next month.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that William Regal had an opt out of his AEW contract on 2/24. Tony Khan had an opt out on 12/22, so his contract with AEW did end before William Regal had the chance to leave the company without Tony Khan’s permission. Had Tony Khan not given him permission William Regal would have been able to get out of the deal two months later.
Right now the belief is that William Regal will be going quiet once he returns to WWE and his final podcast airs this week. It was also noted that Regal hasn’t taped a new podcast episode since November, and even though he’s no longer with AEW he’s still being mentioned by Bryan Danielson in the build to his AEW World Title match with MJF.
