CM Punk is without a doubt one of the most controversial figures in the world of professional wrestling and there’s been a lot of speculation regarding how his WWE return is going to play out. Punk made his first appearance on Raw in almost a decade this week and it sounds like he also made a good impression backstage.

PWInsider reports that there were a lot of talents backstage waiting to see if a grumpy version of CM Punk would show up, but that didn’t happen. CM Punk was said to have been out and about with everyone else in the locker room and spent time talking with people before the show.

The word is that CM Punk came in as if he wasn’t above anyone and that he was friendly with everyone he interacted with. The former WWE Champion was described as “happy to be there” and the hope is that will remain the case moving forward.

One source who spoke with CM Punk noted that there was, “no sign of the version of the person who we’d hear was so miserable in AEW.” It was also noted that a few people who weren’t thrilled about CM Punk’s return felt better about the situation after talking with him.
