Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have been one of the top teams in the WWE tag team division for some time now, and back in July they walked into Monday Night Raw with the World Tag Team Championship around their waists. As Ford was entering through the crowd he approached a security guard and performed what the security guard described as an “unwanted sexualized lap dance.”
Earlier this week the security guard officially filed a lawsuit against Montez Ford (real name Kenneth Crawford) with the Circuit Court of Cook County. The lawsuit alleges 14 counts including assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of the Illinois Gender Violence Act. WWE, Kenneth Crawford, and the company’s subsidiary Event Services, LLC are named as defendants in the lawsuit.
The lawsuit has been the talk of the wrestling world ever since it became public knowledge, and Montez Ford recently made his first comments after the news became public when he posted a simple tweet which said, “God is Good.”

In the lawsuit the security guard is claiming he “suffered humiliation, embarrassment, and emotional distress,” due to the video circulating online. He also claims he was mocked when he returned to his regular job by members of the public who recognized him and imitated Montez Ford’s movements. The filing also alleges that Ford moved closer to the security guard and his “left inner thigh repeatedly rubbed against Plaintiff’s leg.”
A case management hearing is set for December 10th. The security guard is seeking monetary damages, punitive damages and legal costs. He is also asking that WWE and Ford not be allowed to use the footage of the incident that took place between himself and Ford.
