The 900th episode of WWE SmackDown kicked off in a big way this week. Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan made their way to the stage at the beginning of the show, and they hyped up the crowd. But Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan didn’t stay too long, because that’s not their style. They like to put the spotlight on the talent, so, they announced that the Intercontinental Championship match would be the first match of the night.
The Miz and Dolph Ziggler know each other well, and the two SmackDown stars put on another great match on Tuesday night.
Earlier in the day, The Miz said he had a plan for the match, and his plan worked out well. The Spirit Squad interfered, and as Dolph Ziggler was kicking them off the apron, Miz attacked his leg. Miz locked in the figure four, but Ziggler made it to the ropes.
The Miz locked in the figure four once again, but Dolph reversed it into a roll-up. Maryse then reached through the ropes and pushed Miz and Ziggler so that Ziggler’s shoulders would be down. The referee then counted the pin.

The Miz will now go on to defend his title against Sami Zayn at Survivor Series, and if Sami Zayn wins the match, the Intercontinental Championship will move to Raw.
