Mercedes Mone has been one of the top stars in All Elite Wrestling for a few years now and she stepped into the ring to compete in the Owen Hart Cup finals at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on Sunday night. Ultimately Mercedes defeated Maya World and punched her secured a shot at the AEW Women’s Championship at All In later this summer.
Following her big victory at Forbidden Door, Mercedes Mone shared what appears to be a fan made poster for a potential match with Bayley for the AEW Women’s Championship at the WrestleDream pay-per-view in October in an Instagram story.
It’s certainly no big secret that Mercedes and Bayley are good friends, and they also have quite the history when it comes to their on screen relationship as well.
As of this writing it’s not clear what the future holds for Bayley, but TC of WrestleVotes recently reported that the belief is her current contract with WWE is set to expire later this year when he said, “Bayley’s contract, I do believe, expires at the end of this calendar year. I haven’t heard that she has re-signed. All indications that I’ve got are that WWE wants to keep her, TKO wants to keep her.
“She will get offered a deal, don’t know what she is looking for, what would be in that deal, don’t know if she has got eyes elsewhere, other promotions, other parts of the world.”
