mauro ranallo

Mauro Ranallo has been a key member of the SmackDown Live announce team, but he’s been absent from the commentary table for the last three episodes. It was recently reported that Mauro is taking time off because he’s suffering from depression, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be returning as soon as some of us had hoped.

WrestleMania is the biggest WWE show of the year, and the event is set to take place from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on Sunday. The card is loaded with big matches and WWE’s most talented commentators will surely be working overtime to hype up the action, but it doesn’t look like Mauro Ranallo will be part of the event.

Mauro Ranallo recently took to Twitter to update fans on his status, and he wished his WWE family an “AMAZING WrestleMania” which seemingly means he won’t be part of the show.

This is certainly too bad, as Mauro has a reputation for being overexcited and calling each and every match like it’s a WrestleMania main event. That’s why it’s a shame that he won’t actually be able to call WrestleMania this year if he does indeed sit on the sidelines for the event.

One way or another, it sounds like Mauro is doing better, and all of us here at Still Real To Us are wishing him well on his road to recovery.

  1. Vince is gonna fire his ass for this. Suffer from depression myself, but Vince won’t care. I’d be surprised if he’s there another 6 months.

      • Agreed, but Vince is like that. You guys know how he is. If he smells a weakness in someone, he’ll look down on them. Didn’t his opinion of Ross change after he asked for time off? Hell, I’d bet DB didn’t get pushed because Vince looks at him like a “soft, nice guy”, not just because he’s small. Punk is small, and Vince loved him….until he didn’t. Talent wise, Ranallo is one of the best commentators in history and I’d be a huge loss.
