Matt Hardy has been in the professional wrestling business for a long time and throughout the course of his career he’s been hit with a wide variety of moves. Hardy has been known to get extreme from time to time, but nowadays it seems that there’s at least one move he’s not interested in taking.
During a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast the former Impact Wrestling World Champion talked about moves he tries to avoid and he noted that the backdrop is at the top of the list.
“Anything that will hurt me I try and avoid. The hardest bump to learn how to take when I was like young and invincible and indestructible, there wasn’t anything that I was afraid to take, maybe I would say a backdrop was one of the trickier things.
And that’s something I don’t do now. Because a backdrop, a backdrop is one of those things like especially in my scenario in my situation, because my hips and my lower back are so beat up. If you would over rotate on a backdrop and like land in that position like running your tailbone and coccyx, that will be brutal for me. So like, I usually opt out of those.
I can’t think it’s been a long time since I’ve taken a backdrop I’ll leave it at that. But that that would probably be the answer of the thing I probably would avoid the most.”
Matt Hardy recently reunited with his brother Jeff on AEW programming and they are currently feuding with The Firm. The Hardys, Hook and Isiah Cassidy are set to face off against The Firm in a cinematic Firm Deletion match which will air on the next episode of Rampage. Stay tuned for updates.
