Jeff Hardy was making headlines last week following his third arrest for DUI which resulted in him being suspended from All Elite Wrestling. But prior to Jeff’s suspension some fans were wondering why the Charismatic Enigma didn’t compete in the Casino Battle Royal on the June 8th edition of Dynamite.

The Casino Battle Royal was won by Kyle O’Reilly who later went on to be defeated by Jon Moxley in the main event. Some fans criticized the match for not featuring some of the bigger names in AEW.

Matt Hardy recently revealed the reason why Jeff wasn’t part of the match on Drinks With Johnny, and he noted that his brother wasn’t cleared to compete.

“In the Casino Battle Royal, Jeff … was taking a couple of weeks off, just to be cleared from the doctor which is why he didn’t compete in that, and then obviously, I chose not to as well. It was an interesting concept though, especially the very shocking announcement that CM Punk had to leave and have surgery.”

Following his suspension it’s not clear when Jeff Hardy will be returning to AEW programming. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
