Ever since Matt and Jeff Hardy returned to WWE back at WrestleMania, the duo have been missing a compelling gimmick and rather than give the real-life brothers something to work with, WWE has continued to stall while Hardy works on obtaining the rights to the “Broken Matt Hardy” gimmick that he created whilst he was working in Impact Wrestling.
Jeff Hardy is currently sidelined due to an injury which has left the focus firmly on Matt over the past few weeks. The duo did attempt a “Woken” gimmick that was obviously a spin on the character he created a number of years ago, but that seems to have been forgotten now as Hardy’s concentration has switched back to his “broken” character.
Hardy hasn’t been on the best of runs without his brother by his side, but it seems that this could be because WWE needs to break Hardy down in order to build him back up again. The former Tag Team Champion delivered a promo following Raw last night where he dropped the biggest hint since he returned that “Broken Matt Hardy” could finally be on his way.
Hardy said that he is reaching “breaking point” which now has the WWE Universe excited to see if Matt really breaks and then remains broken.
