Back in April, Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens made history when they defeated The Usos and won the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship in the main event at WrestleMania 39.
Unfortunately Kevin Owens was written off TV a few weeks ago due to a rib injury, and Sami Zayn was written out of the main event of Raw this week due to an elbow injury. However, even though Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn are currently sidelined the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE has no plans to take the Undisputed Tag Team Titles from them.
“Zayn has an elbow swollen like a golf ball which is why they did the angle on Raw where Judgment Day took him out. The injury that would cause that would be bursitis or a bursa sac infection. Owens is injured as well but he was given time off to let his broken rib get a rest and the plan wasn’t to take the tag titles off them.”
With WWE keeping the titles on Owens & Zayn it appears that the company doesn’t believe they’ll be out of action for long enough to warrant vacating the titles. At this point in time it’s not clear when they could be back in action as a team, but hopefully it’s sooner than later.
