It’s been a huge day for The Rock as it was announced this morning that he has officially been appointed to the TKO Board of Directors. Rock returned to WWE during Day 1 Raw a few weeks ago and he teased a potential match with Roman Reigns. During an appearance on ESPN’s First Take today The Great One stated that there’s a chance the match could happen.

Dave Meltzer shared an update on The Rock’s status for WrestleMania on Wrestling Observer Radio when he noted that as of right now Rock is not signed for the event. It was also noted that as of right now The Rock would rather compete at WrestleMania, but there are forces interested in bringing a potential Rock vs. Reigns match to Saudi Arabia.

“He has not signed as of today (January 23) for WrestleMania. It is absolutely in play, it is not a done deal. He wants to do WrestleMania this year. There are forces that are interested in how much value he could bring to Saudi Arabia. He would rather do WrestleMania as it stands now. There’s balls in play, nothing is 100%. There are people who would like to convince him if they can make a ton of extra money from Saudi Arabia to do it there.”

As of right now it seems that Roman Reigns’ challenger for WrestleMania is not set in stone though Cody Rhodes and The Rock appear to be the two frontrunners to take the spot.
