It’s been a year of shocking departures to say the least as there have been a number of talent who many fans figured would be WWE lifers who ended up parting ways with the company.
Sheamus had been with WWE for over 20 years, but it was reported a few months ago that he had turned down on offer to sign a restructured contract with WWE and opted to leave the company instead. It was also reported at the time that Sheamus would become a free agent on October 1st. With Sheamus now entering free agency there’s been a lot of talk about what his next move could be.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that there is expected to be interest in Sheamus from All Elite Wrestling. It’s also being reported that there’s support for Sheamus in the locker room, and a handful of AEW talent are interested in Sheamus joining the company.
Sheamus has not wrestled since the 12/17/25 episode of Monday Night Raw when he teamed with John Cena & Rey Mysterio to defeat the team of Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh. The match was John Cena’s final match on Raw, and apparently the final match Sheamus would wrestle inside a WWE ring.
