Over the last few years WWE has released a number of talents, but you never know when a familiar face might return to the company. Last week Lince Dorado surprised fans at the NXT live event in Citrus Springs when he returned and picked up a win over Josh Black.
Dave Meltzer addressed Lince Dorado’s current status with WWE on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted that Dorado was hired to work for the company as a coach, but he will also apparently be competing in matches as well.
“So he debuted last night in Citrus Springs, Florida where ‘NXT’ was doing a spot show, I think it was Citrus Springs. He has been hired as a coach, so that’s the deal there, he’s going to work at the Performance Center, and I guess do some matches as well, so that’s the story.”
Lince Dorado first started working with WWE in 2016 when he entered the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. He went on to sign a contract with WWE and was featured as part of the company’s revamped cruiserweight division. In 2018 he joined the Lucha House Party stable alongside Kalisto and Gran Metalik.
Back in November of 2021, Lince Dorado was released from his WWE contract. In the years that followed he went on to make appearances for companies such as AEW, MLW, CMLL and NJPW to name a few.
