It was revealed prior to the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on Sunday night that Cody Rhodes suffered a torn pectoral muscle, but The American Nightmare still showed up to compete in the main event. Cody fought through the pain while he picked up his third victory over Seth Rollins since returning to WWE.
Fightful Select reports that as of this morning sources close to Cody Rhodes have stated that he is set to undergo surgery to repair the torn pectoral muscle. The surgery will reportedly take place on Thursday.
It’s not clear how long Cody Rhodes could be out of action, but in the past Triple H and Elias were both out for five months after suffering pectoral injuries. John Cena was able to bounce back and return in less than four months.
Cody Rhodes is set to appear on Monday Night Raw this week and he’s declared that he will be addressing his injury. Stay tuned for more updates on the Cody situation as they become available.
