This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown aired live from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA and the show was action packed. For months now LA Knight has been chasing the WWE United States Championship, and Knight challenged Shinsuke Nakamura for the belt in the main event on SmackDown.

Near the end of the match Shinsuke Nakamura grabbed a steel chair and tried to hit Knight with the chair at ringside. Knight grabbed the chair and managed to fend off the attack temporarily, but Shinsuke brought the chair in the ring.

The referee grabbed the chair then argued with Shinsuke. As they were arguing Shinsuke tried to spit mist in Knight’s face, but Knight moved out of the way, so Shinsuke ended up spitting the mist in the referee’s face instead. LA Knight rolled Shinsuke up, but there was no one to count the pin.

Shinsuke Nakamura ended up charging at Knight in the corner as he attempted to hit him with the chair. However, Knight got his foot up and kicked the chair into Nakamura’s face. The chair landed on the mat and Knight connected with a BFT then drove Shinsuke Nakamura into the steel chair. A new referee then ran down and counted the pin.

LA Knight won the WWE United States Championship for the second time in his career, and he celebrated with the belt as Friday Night SmackDown went off the air.
