There’s never a dull moment in the world of professional wrestling and on Friday night AEW taped Collision, Rampage and ROH. It was reported ahead of the tapings that Ronda Rousey was backstage and the former Raw Women’s Champion ended up making her debut with Ring of Honor.
Ronda Rousey teamed with Marina Shafir to face ROH Women’s Champion Athena and Billie Starkz during the ROH tapings. PWInsider notes that at one point Athena hit Ronda Rousey with the Eclipse, but the referee didn’t count the pin because she wasn’t the legal competitor. Rousey used the armbar to make Billie Starkz tap out.
The Baddest Woman on the Planet finished up with WWE after facing off against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam back in August. She made her surprise return to the ring at a Lucha VaVoom event a few weeks ago and also wrestled for Wrestling Revolver earlier this week.
AEW Full Gear is set to air live tonight on pay-per-view and Tony Khan has announced that a big signing will be revealed during the show, so it will be interesting to see how things play out now that Ronda Rousey is in the mix.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
