WWE has signed some big names in recent months, and it was recently reported that former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada is on the company’s radar.

Sports Illustrated is now reporting that Kazuchika Okada is set to become a free agent soon. Okada’s current contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling is reportedly set to expire at the end of January. It’s being said that a new deal with NJPW would typically be underway by now, but Kazuchika Okada is seriously entertaining the idea of joining another wrestling promotion.

When Okada wrestled on Dynamite back in October that appearance gave him an opportunity to get a better sense of AEW which could be one of his destinations if he leaves NJPW.

The only other possibility for Okada besides AEW is WWE, and it’s believed that Triple H would be looking to make a play for Okada who is expected to receive a major payday regardless of which company he signs for.

If Okada signs with WWE he would be able to work WrestleMania and face off against some of the biggest names in the business. However, if he were to sign with AEW he would be able to continue living in Japan. AEW also has a working relationship with NJPW, so if Okada signs with AEW he could potentially return to NJPW for big events such as Wrestle Kingdom.

Do you think Okada should sign with AEW or WWE? Sound off in the comments below.
