This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw took place from Atlanta, GA and it kicked off with Cody Rhodes cutting a promo. Cody called out Brock Lesnar, and he also took some time to point out the fact that his mother was in the front row.

Cody spent a few minutes talking about his mother then he got out of the ring to hug his family in the front row and Brock Lesnar’s music hit. Cody Rhodes looked down the ramp, but no one came out. Cody then walked down the stage and Brock’s music hit again. The American Nightmare walked backstage and someone threw him back out into the arena. Brock Lesnar then came out with a steel chair and proceeded to hit Cody with it several times.

Brock Lesnar continued to beat Cody Rhodes down and he hit Cody with the F5 on the outside of the ring right in front of his family. The Beast Incarnate then threw Cody back into the ring and put Cody in the Kimura Lock. Brock then screamed at him while confirming that Cody’s challenge for SummerSlam has been accepted.

So far Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar is the first match that has been officially confirmed for the SummerSlam card. SummerSlam will air live from Ford Field in Detroit, MI on Saturday, August 5. Stay tuned for updates.
