hall of fame

There are a lot of rumors out there regarding who will be inducted as part of this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class and rumors of The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express being inducted have been making the rounds for about a week now. Well, the rumors are true as WWE has confirmed that they will indeed be part of the 2017 class.

CBS Sports broke the news earlier today and Rock ‘n’ Roll Express member Ricky Morton said during an interview that the Hall of Fame induction knocked the team off their feet.

“It was a surprise,” he told CBS Sports. “I had a message on my phone [from WWE] to call the number back. I think they got ahold of Robert at the time. When they called, it was just like a suckerpunch. It just knocked us off our feet. It’s an honor for Ricky and me to go into the hall of fame.”

The team recently participated in Broken Matt Hardy’s Tag Team Apocolypto which was part of Total Nonstop Deletion and Ricky Morton wants fans to know that if they want to see more of the team inside the ring, they’re more than willing to please their fans.

“When you go back and watch the tapes, when Robert and I come out, the chant goes ‘ROCK AND ROLL! ROCK AND ROLL!'” Morton said. “But ‘One More Match?’ Oh, buddy. We’re still very active. Hey, we’ll have four matches this week.”

So far The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and headliner Kurt Angle are the only two names officially announced for this year’s class. Other names rumored for the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class include DDP, Beth Phoenix, William Regal, Christian, The Natural Disasters and Mike Rotunda (IRS).
