It’s been rumored for months now that WWE is interested in bringing content from independent wrestling promotions to the WWE Network, and it looks like WWE could be making some moves over the next few months.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon wants content from some of the “hot indies” on the WWE Network. It was speculated that WWE could form alliances with other companies similar to their relationship with WWN.
Earlier this year WWE sent out a survey asking fans if they would be interested in watching content from TNA and ROH on the WWE Network. The survey also listed different price points for WWE Network subscriptions with different tiers listed at $4.99, $9.99 and $14.99.
Another survey was later sent out in an attempt to gauge fan interest in indie promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, CHIKARA, EVOLVE, Dragon Gate USA, Ohio Valley Wrestling, All American Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling, Shimmer, Ring of Honor, Full Impact Pro.
As of right now there’s no word on which promotions will be coming to the WWE Network or when, but Dave Meltzer also noted that the next few months will be interesting for the business.
